Description: Golden Wax 464 is a wax that contains a soy-based additive that is natural and kosher. Being a natural product, it is susceptible to alter and differentiate between batches and seasons. This soy-based additive enables the soy to be poured at a hotter temperature, reducing frosting and increasing fragrance oil load. These waxes blend well with paraffin, slack wax and microcrystalline waxes. Golden Wax 464 has a higher melt point which enables it to retain a higher fragrance oil load to give you a stronger scent throw.
Please Note: 464 can be very difficult to work with. Optimal fragrance ratio and pour temperatures are required for a flawless candle. These levels will vary based on your physical candle making environment.
Update on Recent Batches: Due to circumstances beyond our control, the wax may arrive in either solid block form or it may be flaked. Some customers may find that the wax seems wet. The manufacturer has advised: “Flaked shortening may have visible condensate present due to temperature variables in the flaking process”. If this is the case, be sure to test samples first to ensure stability with your fragrance.
Note: To comply with new government regulations, AAK will be changing the product code and labeling for Golden Wax™ products. Both the old code AKOSOY 5716-00-04 LP416 and the new code Golden Wax 416 -- 5716-00-77GW are AAK wax products and the same exact product.
Easiest wax to work with, definitely a no fuss wax.
Colouring this wax can be challenging, if it coloured well it would be a 10/10!!
I find this wax much better than others.
I have had problems with this wax since November 2017. For some reason all the candles keep going out. Not sure if the blend has been changed. Not impressed
I just started making candles as I’m usually a body product maker. I was a little scared at first because everyone seems to rave about Ecosoya. But oh mamma Mia!!! Had no issues at all and the scent throw is to die for, filled the house with a glorious scent that lingered for ages. So impressed!
I find this wax sets ok then once lit goes bubbly and uneven. Had to remelt half the candles again. Such a time waster. would buy this again
Made them for the first time with this wax on the weekend and am very happy with how they have turned out. Fair to say I'm addicted to making candles now, very happy customer.
I love this wax. I have tried other brands and always come back to this one. Great price too.
I was an Advanced girl for years and after reading many reviews from other chandlers I decided to try 464. I was amazed at the difference in scent throw and my candles came alive. I followed one chandlers advice to heat the wax to 105C and pour straight away - I've never looked back, great tops, perfect adhesion, and the scent throw was so noticeably different - I'm sold on 464 for candles but doesn't cut it for me for melts because I can't get the melts to release from the clamshells.
I find this is really great for both melts and candles. The burn time is fantastic and it's very easy to pour.
I purchased this wax because of all the great reviews and I unfortunately have not had the same experience everyone else has been having. I am not new to candle making, I have my own business and have been making candles for 5 years and I find this batch of wax very inconsistent. I have followed the advice from the troubleshooting page and nothing has helped.
GW464 used to be the best wax on the market and now I feel the formula has been changed or something and it is absolutely crap!
All my candles have to be touched up or remade depending on how bad they look, it's made running my business very stressful with all the double handling.
Absolutely fantastic! After trying the two other soy brands as well I found this hands down the best - perfect adhesion and almost never need to re-heat the top. Scent throw superior to eco soya. Only down side is a slightly less creamy texture which does not allow for any smoothing out with a finger once set so any bubbles/ holes/ cracks require reheating on the rare occasion they do occur.
OMG!!! It's almost surreal for me to be saying this...after trying so many soy waxes over the last 10 years, finally I have found the one that produces perfect 100% adhesion to the glass. Being Wintertime, in a warm room I poured into warmed glasses at 70 degrees, and I'm so impressed that my candles - after 8 hours - are still fully adhered to the glass. I haven't test burned one yet for scent throw - but I'm not too concerned since it's soy anyway and I'm not expecting the throw I get from the Parafflex, but my client will finally be happy with the adhesion. I TOTALLY recommend you try this wax. I have found it superior to Advanced soy hands down.
i usually use eco soya advanced, bought a 1 kilo bag of this to try, for the first time in ages no reheating the tops of candles they look so lovely, will be buying more of this in future
I've just started making candles, and decided to try the Golden Wax 416. But I kept getting massive holes in the middle of them. I decided to switch to 464, and my candles turn out perfectly now.
I've used a lot of waxes and still come back to this one, easy to work with and high scent throw
Started with 464, tried another wax and couldn't get back to 464 fast enough! The hot and cold throw is superior to other waxes. Absolutely no comparison!!
I love this wax! As long as you closely follow instructions, it should produce fantastic results!
